Four Straight: Oilers defeat Flames in Battle of Alberta; Go for playoff race

EDMONTON, AB: The April 1st, 2013 edition of the Battle of Alberta game ended in a 4-1 Edmonton win over Calgary.

This was the first one in a long while without Jarome.

Miikka Kiprusoff was pulled after allowing 3 goals on 6 shots. (3 GA, 3 SV, .600 SV%)

That may have been the last time Kiprusoff was in a Flames' jersey.

This game was also the first time in about 700 Flames games that Jay Bouwmeester didn't play, as Jay went to St. Louis (see our blog post for more details on the trade) right before the game started.

Justin Schultz was the first to score. Schultz would go on to have 1G and 2A.

Taylor Hall also scored one, finished the game with 1 goal and 1 assist. Ryan Jones would have a goal and an assist, and then Nail Yakupov would have a goal and an assist.

Jordan Eberle had an assist, so did Ryan Whitney.

The only one to score for the Calgary Flames was Brian McGrattan. McGrattan was traded to Calgary from Nashville just recently, Feb.28.

Oilers' Devan Dubynk finished the game saving 33 of 34 shots, .970 SV%
