THOUGHTS ON: The Vancouver Canucks acquiring Derek Roy may have been the smartest move by Canucks' general manager Mike Gillis in a long time.
Remember last years' TradeCentre 2012, Gillis?
Last year, for Zack Kassian, the Canucks gave up outstanding rookie Cody Hodgson to the Buffalo Sabres. That was probably one of the worst trades (I) have ever seen.
At least this year Gillis did something smart.
The Canucks acquired Trade Bait forward Derek Roy. I actually thought the Maple Leafs would want him, but Vancouver NEEDS him going into the 2013 playoffs.
Don't do anything stupid, Gillis.
I think the Canucks won this trade because Derek Roy is still pretty young. He still has tons of fuel and around a decade more of hockey still in him.
Trade Rating: 9 out of 10
