TRADE BAIT: Despite tonight's game and recent statistics of Miikka Kiprusoff's, I think the Toronto Maple Leafs should trade for Miikka Kiprusoff.
Why?
Kiprusoff may not be doing the best this season, but he is still an elite goalie and has playoff experience. Meanwhile, Kiprusoff would be good if the following happens:
1.) What if Reimer was possibly injured, got an illness, etc., then you have an AHL goaltender in your crease for playoffs, risky.
2.) Reimer has bad luck in the playoffs. (Although could happen to Kipper too)
3.) He is a rookie, at 25, and Kipper, at 36, is 11 years older than Scrivens and Reimer. Could become a great leader.
It would also be nice to see Kiprusoff appear in a playoff game before he retires. The price for Kiprusoff isn't too big, as Calgary would most likely want picks or prospects. But they already acquired another goalie in the trade with the Blues on Monday, so they probably won't want anymore goaltenders, especially if they will draft one in June.
But in the meanwhile, it looks like Kiprusoff (may) or (may not) want to go to Toronto, where it looks like they will make the playoffs (finally, but knock on wood)...
